Psalm 119:1-6

"How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.  How blessed are those who observe His testimonies.  Who seek Him with all their heart.  They also do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways.  You have ordained Your precepts.  That we should keep them diligently.  Oh that my ways may be established to keep your statutes!  Then I shall not be ashamed when I look upon all Your commandments." Psalm 119:1-6
When we walk according to the law, no pretense can be brought against us.  We are free from accusation or blame.  Blamelessness can only be available through a true, step by step faith walk.  Listening to the Lord and learning every moment from His still small voice proclaiming His ability to make you complete.  But there is a need for us to do our part...Observe His Testimony - Seek Him with all your heart. Do no unrighteousness, walk in His ways.

And verse 4 established God's precepts as His true desire for us.  That He and He alone has established them and set them into motion, so that we as believers would constantly be aware of our obeying these statutes.  Diligently focusing on maintaining ourselves in such a manner as to proclaim the good and amazing name of God almighty.  Through life, action and deed, that we would honor Him by being focused on lifting His name high!

Then we come to verse 5..."Oh that my ways may be established to keep your statues."  Something about this passage declares a radical heart change.  Our (my) ways never reflect God's statutes.  I am unable to live according to the righteousness set before me on my own.  My petty sins often rule my life - when I think I've overcome them is when I fail and fall the most.  Do I learn from this failure or continue in vain selfish, prideful ambition to be the hero of my own life?  "I can do this, I can overcome" become my motto!  My failures follow me, cursing and laughing at my weakness, always conquering my vain attempts to follow, "But for the cross go I."  I AM SET FREE! REDEEMED! Empowered to be established as God's child, heir to the throne - Brother to the one able!  I can join in unison with the SON, Jesus declaring - FREEDOM!  Established-set firm on the foundation that will not move or shake-abiding in God's perfect commands.  "God establish my ways to look like your calling...establish me as your child, humbled to be called Yours."

Verse 6 reminds me constantly of my ability to over come in Christ!  There is something about the greatness of God's commands that creates fear in us when we realize we have failed to follow them.  That sinking feeling deep inside that is ashamed we were unable to refrain.  Verse 5 - We are established in the power of Jesus Christ.  Sin is our failure to allow the spirit to cauterize the humanity downfalls from our wretched lives.  It is arrogance to hold on with all we are instead of letting go and letting God.  When God overcomes we no longer stand ashamed, but humbled.  Humbled that our wretchedness becomes righteousness.  We are no longer condemned but victorious.  Grace is victory laden...but insists a change.  Repent and turn.  Be completely free.  Pursue holiness in victory and know each battle won gives God glory thus declaring "Well done my good and faithful servant."

What has the Lord taught you through the first 6 verses?  These are just the ramblings from my journal as I memorized these scriptures.  Feel free to comment and challenge others in what the Lord is teaching you!
